‘Fragment One' is a new work created through destruction. When the artists' previous exhibition was being de-rigged, a large green steatite sculpture of three faces fell to the floor and smashed. The artist noticed the beauty in the fragmented pieces, and decided to experiment by creating moulds of the broken shards. This work is cast in bronze and represents the artist submitting to the evolution of her work, picking up the pieces and moving forward in life and art.
